Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Hello and welcome!
My name is Rachel; I’m glad you’ve decided to stop by and learn a bit more about the girl behind the keys. I eventually would love to tell you the story of who I am and what I want out of life but I am still a work in progress and am not entirely sure yet.
I do know that I am a hopeless introvert that has uprooted herself from her comfortable little midwestern bubble to move abroad to the big smoke. It is probably the craziest thing I will ever do; I moved abroad for none other than love. It was a huge leap of faith for me. Luckily my husband is great and has surrounded me with love, companionship, and plenty of friends and family.
I also know I’m a simple woman that loves her Birkenstock sandals and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. I have a yellow labrador named Penny whom I love and miss dearly. I am an aspiring illustrator and study Illustration at the University of Hertfordshire. I work in a pub as a barmaid (I love that there’s no table service in pubs. Love. It.) I have a dream of writing a book because I already have so many stories and bits of advice I would love to share (one reason I am blogging). I also crave a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus and could improve on my consistency with prayer.
Speaking of faith, if you’ve made it this far exploring my blog then you are likely A) a curious lurker or B) a woman of faith seeking advice and ministry. I hope you’re the latter or are at least intrigued at the possibility of the latter! I’m certainly not a perfect example (who is?) but every day I strive to be a better woman, wife, and friend through Christ Jesus. I’ve tried so many times chasing perfection through my own strength. I’m still learning what it means to wholly rely on God. But I believe I am called to faith blogging and pray that I encourage, inspire and uplift your Spirit by doing so!
